Scarlett Johansson’s Iron Man Fight
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Paramount, Action, Adaptation, Adventure, Sequels, Casting, Upcoming Releases,
Scarlett Johansson says she fought hard for her role in Iron Man 2.
The 25-year-old actress - who plays sexy Russian spy Black Widow in the superhero movie - admitted she actively campaigned for the part after actress Emily Blunt dropped out because of scheduling conflicts.
“I was a huge fan of the first movie and was quite ‘geek-ed’ out at being part of the second one. I just wanted to be a part of Iron Man so I really researched the comic books and came in with some ideas of my own about how to develop the character. I see her as being determined and ambitious,” she said.

Robert Pattinson could soon be playing grunge rocker Kurt Cobain in a biopic of the musician’s life. The 23-year-old actor has reportedly been in talks about the project with Courtney Love, Cobain’s widow and a producer on the biopic.
“Courtney has agreed to the film on condition that she gets to decide the main aspects of the project including director, casting, screenplay and music,” a source said. “Robert has been calling and emailing her non-stop. She has been a bit wound up by his manners, but he is her number one choice to play Kurt.”

These two new clips focus on two entirely different types of “heroes.” In the first trailer, the central character uses bows as his primary weapons. In the second - well, the tools are a bit more high-tech.
Robin Hood reunites Oscar winner Russell Crowe with his Gladiator director, Ridley Scott, for a retelling of the famous 13th century-tale. The film, which promises to give us “The story behind the legend. The hero behind the outlaw,” also features Cate Blanchett as Lady Marion, the outlaw’s love interest, and Mark Strong (Sherlock Holmes) as Sir Godfrey.
Robin Hood opens on May 14.

Keira Knightley Aims For Fair Lady Role
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Columbia Pictures, Adaptation, Classics, Musicals, Romance, Casting, Celebrity Gossip, Rumors,
A fan of period pieces, Keira Knightley has been tipped to star in a new version of My Fair Lady.
The Pirates of the Caribbean actress is reportedly in negotiations to play Eliza Doolittle in Emma Thompson’s adaptation of the classic rags-to-riches tale.
Anne Hathaway and Scarlett Johansson are also being considered for the role, which was originally played by Audrey Hepburn. An insider said, “Keira and Scarlett are the only two real contenders, and Keira’s the favorite. She’s the most natural Eliza people have seen. She has worked on her singing voice for a year and will get better and better.”
The film’s director Danny Boyle, who won an Academy Award for Slumdog Millionaire earlier this year, is also believed to want Keira to get the part.
The 24-year-old actress is said to be “scared” about taking on such an iconic role, but excited about the challenge it would present. Filming is expected to start late next year.
Scarlett Johansson’s Sinatra Secret
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Music, Celebrity Gossip,
Scarlett Johansson wants to be Frank Sinatra.
The Lost in Translation star admits that the Rat Pack singer-and-actor was one of her childhood heroes and she hopes to emulate his singing voice in the future:
“I always wanted to be Frank Sinatra. Even as a little kid, I always thought I’d grow up and sound like Sinatra. I’m still waiting for that to happen. A lot of actors are great mimics anyway, and that can relate to music as well. I think all singers are acting, whether it’s their lyrics or another writer’s lyrics, they are performing. I don’t think the two are dissimilar.”
Uh, oh—watch out, Leo.
Despite her success, Scarlett—who is set to release her second album, The Break-Up, a series of duets with close friend Pete Yorn—admits she is still astonished when she lands big jobs. She told Britain’s The Times newspaper, “That always shocks me, when I get hired for anything. Either as an actor or, in this case, a vocalist for hire. As soon as one project ends, you never think you will get the chance again. I was just flattered that Pete thought of me and put the faith in me that I could creatively collaborate on anything.”
